Job Description:
An Intake Specialist uses outstanding customer service skills to meet the intake and information service needs of patients, Primary Care practices, Specialty Care Providers, and Hospitals. He/she serves as a valued member of the health care team, helping patients get the medical procedures they need. An Intake Specialist operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and electronic fax. An Intake Specialist must also be willing to perform various administrative duties as needed.
Skill Set:
An Intake Specialist must have excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to work on many projects at once. He/she must be very detail-oriented and organized, to maintain accurate records. An Intake Specialist must display a high level of patience as they often encounter people who may have trouble communicating or understanding the procedures prescribed. He/she must be good listeners and good speakers, as the Intake Specialist communicates with patients and their families and often are the go-between for them and physicians or other medical staff. He/she also must work well with others, as they will work as part of a health care team, striving to provide patients with the best care possible.
Responsibilities:
The Intake Specialist is responsible for patient information intake and information service needs of patients, Primary Care practices, Specialty Care Providers, and Hospitals. An Intake Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of information that he/she inputs into company databases and patient records. He/she is responsible for customer service duties for patients, Primary Care practices, Specialty Care Providers, and Hospitals.
Job Duties:
· Perform telephonic support to patients regarding routine services.
· Provides direct support to Primary Care practices, Specialty Care Providers, and Hospitals regarding routine services.
· Entering of information into computerized databases.
· Data entry referrals for non-complex services including inpatient and outpatient care.
· Provide necessary follow up to Physician Practices of patient scheduling and completion of procedure.
· Assists in educating and acts as a resource to Primary Care practices, Specialty Care Providers, and Hospitals.
· Assists patients, Physician Practices, and staff with any questions as they occur.
· Transmission of patient paperwork for prescribed procedures.
· Assistance with ensuring completed paperwork & procedure data assignment.
· Assists with the completion of other administrative duties as required.
Requirements:
· High School diploma or GED equivalent.
· Excellent computer, multi-tasking, and telephone skills.
· The ability to work well under pressure.
· TEAM PLAYER and willingness for diversified job duties.
