Job Overview
The Security Specialist plays a vital role in implementing the physical security and administrative security aspects of the Information Security Management System (ISMS). This role is responsible from managing and performing tasks associated with the development, communication, implementation, enforcement and monitoring of security controls to ensure the organization's physical security and to protect information assets from intentional or inadvertent theft, disclosure, or misuse, as well as protecting the company's employees and assets from threats. This role requires strong English language communication with other employees, both in written and verbal form. As there are security needs to be addresses for the entire campus including office, manufacturing, and construction environments, the Security Specialist will be required to perform the work in all these environments. There will be some need for travel and off-hours availability to fulfill this role.
Role and Responsibilities
Physical Security:
- Manage all aspects of the physical security systems including magnetometers, X-Ray, EAS, access control system, CCTV/VMS, LPR, PSIM, Data Protection Technology (DPT) and PC port locks.
- Facilitate the placement of security stickers seals on all smart phone camera devices and inspect upon exit.
- Manage the security violation program
- Perform regular reports on the status of relevant KPIs.
- Manage the inventory of security devices and supplies
- Review incident reports and perform investigations as necessary
- Conduct interviews with employees and contractors to assist in gathering facts for investigations
- Other general security duties as required to maintain a safe and secure workplace
Guard Contract Management:
- Manage all aspects of the on-site contract security company
- Ensure proper guard staffing to ensure optimal protection of assets
- Regularly audit invoices and authorize payment for services provided
- Manage Post Orders for security company accountability
- Efficiently manage the physical security budget
- Set and monitor guard training standards including ongoing training.
Physical Security - Access Control:
- Manage the ID badging program for employees, contractors and visitors
- Manage the access control system at an Administrator level, programming devices and access levels
- Set intelligent access levels using the principle of least privilege
- Troubleshoot access control system components
- Audit abnormal site access to the site and restricted areas
- Maintain a system or carry-in and out for property
- Maintain separation between production and construction areas
- Manage the Vehicle Gate and other vehicle entry points
Administrative Security:
- Maintain and update security policies, guidelines and procedures
- Train employees in security best practices and procedures
- Create regular publications to promote security awareness
- Keep and audit evidence and training records organized and readily available for response to government and internal audits
- Perform security audits or related SKO battery business companies
External Threats:
- Assist Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) Department with managing external threats
- Maintain positive relationships with local law enforcement to coordinate responses to threats
- Manage systems and countermeasures to deter, detect and delay external threats
Skill and Qualification
- Associate or bachelor's degree in security management, Criminal Justice, Business Management or related field
- 4+ years of experience in physical security management
- 1+ year of experience managing contract security guards
- 2+ years of managing a Badge ID and access control program
- Detailed knowledge of access control system operation technical concepts
- Security survey, audit and vulnerability assessment experience
- Ability to write policies, guidelines and procedures at a professional level
- APP, PSP or CPP (ASIS International) Certification Preferred
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Basic proficiency in using Windows OS

Compensation: $65,000
